The Applause-o-meter: Survey Says... LOUD!

Determining the winner the old fashioned way: by screaming at your phone.

We've all been there. The talent show tie-breaker. The office debate over where to order lunch (Tacos? Pizza?). The awkward silence when you ask specific family members who their favorite child is. How do you decide the winner? Democracy? Boring.

Enter the Applause-o-meter.

I built this tool to bring a slice of 1980s gameshow magic to the modern web. It listens to your microphone, measures the decibel level of your screaming friends, and gives you a definitive, scientifically questionable winner.

It's in your hands (literally)

Designed primarily for mobile (because who brings a laptop to a rap battle?), the interface is simple, punchy, and reacts in real-time to the noise level.

How it works

Under the hood, it's using the Web Audio API to analyze the microphone input stream. No data is recorded or sent to a server—we don't want to hear your bad karaoke. It just calculates the root mean square (RMS) amplitude of the audio signal and maps it to a visual gauge.

So next time you need to settle a score, don't flip a coin. Make some noise!
